No account, ever
There is no sign-up, no email capture and no user profile. You can use every free part of this site without identifying yourself in any way.
What is stored in your browser
PantrySwap keeps a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage, which never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us:
Saved swaps and your shopping list — the substitutions you chose to keep. An anonymous purchase id, only if you subscribe, so this browser recognises your Premium access. A flag recording whether you have confirmed you saved your access code, and a session-only flag if you dismiss the upgrade banner.
Clearing your browser data removes all of it. If you subscribe, save your access code first — it is what lets you restore Premium afterwards, or on another device.
What never leaves your device
Everything you type. Ingredient search, the recipe you paste into the converter, the contents of your pantry, and your saved swaps are all processed locally in JavaScript. There is no server to send them to — this site is a set of static files.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and collects aggregate page-view data only. It does not use a persistent identifier, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other sites. We can see that a page was viewed; we cannot see who viewed it.
Payments
Premium subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat and processed by Stripe. Your email address and payment details are collected and stored by them, not by PantrySwap — we never see your card number, and we do not receive a marketing list.
What PantrySwap holds is an anonymous purchase identifier stored in this browser, which is what links your device to an active entitlement. That identifier is the “access code” shown on the Premium page. It is not tied to your name.
RevenueCat and Stripe each publish their own privacy policies covering the data they collect as payment processors.
Third-party requests
The site loads no remote images, no web fonts and no advertising or social scripts. Every visual is an inline SVG or a CSS gradient. The only outbound requests are to Cloudflare's analytics endpoint and, if you open the Premium page, to RevenueCat for plan pricing and checkout. A strict Content Security Policy blocks everything else.
Children
PantrySwap is a general-audience cooking reference and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published here. Because there is no account, there is no mailing list to notify.
